Reflecting on my perpetual profession, I am deeply grateful to the Lord for his call and for the Sisters in community with whom I share our Pauline vocation.

For the celebration of my perpetual profession (already more than ten years ago!), the Sisters of my community completely surprised me and folded (by-hand!) over one thousand cranes and hung them from umbrellas in our community dining room for the celebration. (Swipe to the last photo to see them!) The Sisters knew that cranes were special in Japanese culture (my mom is from Japan) and would be especially meaningful for me. Because the cranes are handmade, no two cranes are exactly alike, just like each Sister in our community has her unique gifts and personalities. Together, all the cranes, some of which still hang in my office today, daily remind me of God’s amazing, creative, and deep love for each one of our Sisters in calling us together in our Pauline religious life.
