Get to Know Jeff Mathews, APC

My name is Jeff Mathews and I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I made my Promises as a Pauline Cooperator on the same day that Saint Damien of Molokai was canonized, October 11, 2009. I first met the Daughters of St. Paul at their bookstore in Crestwood, and my wife Carolyn and I brought our five children to the annual Birthday Parties for Jesus held there each December. The Daughters of St. Paul were such a blessing to my family and me that I wanted to help them in any way I could. I started by serving on their local Advisory Board, on which I now serve as president. I never dreamed that I would actually be a part of the Sisters evangelization mission myself, but when you love the Divine Master as much as the Daughters helped me to love him, you cannot help but share that love with others! I occasionally write articles for the Pauline Laity Blog, and I help promote the Pauline mission on social media and in my community. I have also incorporated the Pauline charism into my medical practice. Our gastrointestinal medical mission, the Giaccardo GI Group, brings the healing Jesus to those in need in Honduras. The Pauline Family is an awesome worldwide group of priests, religious, and lay persons who use all forms of media to bring Jesus Way, Truth and Life to a world greatly in need of him!

Who We Are

The Daughters of St. Paul, a congregation of Catholic women religious, live our vocation in service to God’s people by proclaiming the Gospel through all forms of media. Our profoundly Eucharistic spirituality roots us in Jesus so that no matter what we do—writing, graphic design, radio, video, social media, music, art—we may be a communication of Christ’s love to every person we encounter.

Discern Your Vocation

We regularly host opportunities for vocational discernment, providing a space for young women to learn about religious life and pray about where God is calling them. Get in touch with us to learn about events near you or to speak with a Sister.

Be Part of the Mission

Pauline Cooperators are lay men and women who anchor their lives in the Pauline spirituality and who participate in the Pauline mission, which is the very mission of Christ, the proclamation of the Kingdom of God.
